In this episode, Peter exhorts his readers that the time spent chasing the lusts and deceptions of the world has been enough. Now is the time to seek after God and live according to His will.
“For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of indecent behavior, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and wanton idolatries.” — 1 Peter 4:3 (NASB)
