In this episode, we look at the faith that prompted Paul’s thanksgiving. Having heard of Philemon’s faith — a faith directed toward the Lord Jesus and expressed among all the saints — Paul cannot help but give thanks. Every time Philemon comes to mind, Paul brings him before God in prayer. This was no mere intellectual belief; it was a living, saving faith that bore visible fruit in how Philemon loved and served those around him.
“I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints”
— Philemon 4–5 (NASB 1995)
