In this episode, we look at the heart of Paul’s prayer for Philemon. He prays that the fellowship — the *koinonia*, the shared participation — of Philemon’s faith would become effective. This is not a passive faith that stays private; it is a faith that goes to work. And Paul points to the fuel that makes it effective: the knowledge of every good thing which is in us for Christ’s sake. When we truly understand what we have in Christ, our faith becomes a living, active force that impacts everyone around us.
“…and I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake.”
— Philemon 6 (NASB 1995)
