Good morning, friends!
Today let’s take a moment to think about God’s own view of salvation as he revealed it to the prophet Isaiah:
“I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, ‘Here am I, here am I,’ To a nation which did not call on My name.—
Isaiah 65:1
In this prophecy by Isaiah before Israel’s exile to Babylon, we see God describing His salvation in a unique way. Despite not seeking Him, He made Himself known to us, reflecting His love.
We often wrongly attribute our salvation to ourselves or circumstances. However, God reveals through Isaiah that He made Himself known to us while we were not seeking Him. This should lead us to appreciate His grace.
God repeats “”Here I am”” twice, emphasizing His pursuit of those He loves, even when they turn away. We, too, often chase worldly things while His love pursues us.
Practical application:
- Recognize our sinfulness and God’s grace.
- Appreciate God’s sovereignty in our salvation.
- Thank Him in prayer for saving us.
- Engage in evangelism, seeing others as we once were and praying for opportunities to share the gospel.
- The courage and strength to actually take action when those opportunities present themselves
- Living lives that reflect our appreciation of God’s grace in our salvation.
I hope this blesses your day.
Blessings, Paul.
