In this episode, we see a continuation of God’s promise to the people of Israel. This time, the Lord highlights that His assurance to be with them is not based on anything they have done, but on His sovereign will—rooted in the covenant He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.
It’s a beautiful reminder that God’s faithfulness is grounded in His unchanging nature and His eternal promises. And just as He promised Israel, He declares that His Spirit will remain with them.
“According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my Spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.”
— Haggai 2:5 (KJV)
